ABOUT
Levitate is a multi-platform meditation platform reimagining how wellbeing is experienced through immersive environments, sound, and narrative. Designed for next-generation headsets and digital ecosystems, the product moves beyond traditional mindfulness apps into fully embodied, sensory journeys.
DIRECTION
The guiding philosophy was magic realism — not as an aesthetic, but as a product principle. Reality cannot be truly replicated by a screen and we were never trying to pull people out into a complete fantasy. The goal to use technology to provide the tools to heighten reality.
THE REALM BETWEEN REALMS
ENVIRONMENT
Designing for the Meta Quest meant working within hard hardware limitations. Rather than compromising the vision, I redistributed it — marketing, campaign, and companion platforms would carry what the VR environment couldn't. I anchored the visual language in three natural phenomena: water, trees, and moss. Each defined a sensory world that remained coherent whether a user was inside a headset, on their phone, or watching a campaign film. Real musicians composed the soundtrack. Real-time moon phases were embedded in the environment. Every detail reinforced the core product promise that this experience belonged to the real world as much as the virtual one.
PSYCHOLOGY
Working directly with psychologists, we combined traditional meditation practices with ACT therapy, creating an approach that was ancient in its roots and evidence-based in its application. The wellbeing model was structured around six clinical pillars — positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, accomplishment, and health — and validated through clinical research trials. My responsibility was to ensure the creative direction served that clinical framework at every touchpoint. The environments, the sound design, the pacing of each session were all designed to move people through those states functionally, not just aesthetically.
PROCESS
I led a cross-disciplinary team of over 20 people spanning psychologists, musicians, developers, graphic designers, and 3D artists, coordinating across clinical, creative, and technical workstreams simultaneously. That required maintaining a clear product vision that each discipline could interpret through their own expertise while keeping the overall experience unified.
The core challenge throughout was building something that worked as a product, not just as an environment. Every creative decision had a functional justification. Every clinical requirement had a creative expression.
CAMPAIGN
I briefed and directed the campaign shoot with Tabu Productions, working with director Bryan Berrios to translate the platform's product vision into film. The brief was simple: make the ordinary feel extraordinary, show technology and nature coexisting rather than competing.
